with over 22 years
of clinical
arginine therapy experience

More experience with clinical L-arginine therapy than anyone in the world

Why Dr. Prendergast's clinical experience is important.

ProArgi-9 Plus has been tested in actual clinical use in Dr. Prendergast's clinic since he helped formulate it. No other arginine nutritional product can say this.

Dr. Prendergast was using L-arginine therapy seven years before Dr. Robert F. Furchgott, Dr. Louis J. Ignarro and Dr. Ferid Murad received the Nobel Prize in 1998 for discovering what Nitric Oxide does in the endothelial cells. There are few doctors who have as much experience with clinical arginine therapy as Dr. Prendergast.

Dr. Prendergast has been awarded,
"Father of the Year 2008"
American Diabetes Association
and the Father's Day council of Silicon Valley

"Certificate of Recogntion for outstanding committment to eliminating health care disparities in the area of access"
American Medical Association

Angelo Cici is a patient and part of the HDHI study.
On Dec 20, 2008 Angelo had a massive heart failure with simultaneous renal failure, congestive heart failure, pulmonary heart failure and a pace maker failure. From this point on he was in and out of the emergency room. "I was so weak I couldn't even open a bottle of water by myself and I had decided I had had enough. I told the nurses I wanted all the IV's removed and I just wanted to go home and die." Video 3:57

Hypertension (high blood pressure)
Journey into your body to get an inside view of your cardiovascular system—your heart and blood vessels. You’ll see healthy arteries pulsating rhythmically as blood surges through them. Top experts, including Dr. Mehmet Oz and Dr. John E. Castaldo, talk about what hypertension (high blood pressure) is and how the force of blood from an overworked heart literally tears the lining of your arteries. Witness a beating heart and learn how high blood pressure can lead to atherosclerosis, enlarged heart, heart attack, and stroke. Go inside an eyeball and watch capillaries bursting in the retina due to hypertension. But high blood pressure can be managed. Find out how exercise and the right diet, possibly combined with medication, can prevent hypertension from being the “silent killer.”   Video: 3:16

Atherosclerosis
Voyage inside your body to see where cholesterol is made and how plaques form inside your arteries. Witness the inner workings of your own personal cholesterol factory: your liver. Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dr. Peter Fail, and other top experts talk about cholesterol—how it accumulates with other substances in your arteries as plaque, and what happens when plaques rupture. See exactly how tiny stents are inserted in blocked vessels, and view footage of actual bypass surgery. Discover how you can keep your arteries clear and flexible through lifestyle changes and medications.   Video: 3:10

Coronary Bypass Surgery
Your heart is the workhorse of your body, both a miracle of biology and a marvel of endurance. It started beating about 6 weeks after you were conceived, and it will continue to beat about 100,000 times a day, 35 million times in a year. In an average lifetime, this fist-sized organ will beat more than 2.5 billion times and pump 1 million barrels of blood. That's enough to fill more than three supertankers..  Video: 2:35

Women & Cardiovascular Disease
Each year, more women die from heart disease than from breast cancer, cervical cancer, and uterine cancer -- combined. In this video, you can explore the female cardiovascular system and listen to renowned cardiologists Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dr. Karol Watson, and Dr. Peter Fail. They explain why women are vulnerable to heart disease, how their vessels and symptoms differ from men's, and why women face challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease.  Video: 2:56

The Consequences of Clots
For reasons that aren't completely understood, plaques may rupture. A thrombus (blood clot) forms on or near the site of the rupture; this is the body's confused attempt to "heal" the injured vessel. Several things can happen. The clot may break away and travel to the carotid arteries of the neck or to the brain as an embolus, where it can cause a stroke. . Video: 2:02

Do you have high cholesterol? High triglycerides?

Scott Norton
"My triglycerides fell 95 points in the first 30 days and my HDL came up while my LDL fell. My blood pressure came down to 116/78. I couldn't be happier."

High cholesterol is often a symptom of inflamed arteries. L-arginine can reduce inflammation in arteries, rapidly normalize cholesterol levels and significantly reduce triglycerides.

Do you have bone loss?

Judy Emens
"A bone density scan in October 2008 revealed that I had serious bone loss. I found ProArgi-9 plus in 2009 and after taking it for 8 months I had another bone scan. I have no more Osteoporosis and I'm so grateful."

"One of the most significant results of the HDHI* ProArgi-9 plus study was that Vitamin D3 levels increased 183% as an average of the 33 patients. " Dr. Siva Arunasalam

Do you have Diabetes?

How Nitric Oxide improves complications of Diabetes

Diabetes has grown to epidemic proportions and diabetes appears to double the risk of dying from a heart attack, stroke, or other heart conditions Video 12:23 min

Dr. Joseph Prendergast
Dr. Prendergast has treated thousands of diabetics with the ProArgi-9 Plus formula in his endocrinology practice. ProArgi-9 Plus makes the body much more sensitive to glucose, so diabetics can reduce their insulin dose and in many cases stop taking insulin all together. Diabetics suffer from poor circulation and heart disease conditions, but with ProArgi-9 Plus these problems are greatly reduced and many times eliminated.

Sickle Cell Anemia and ProArgi-9+

Dr. Prendergast gives an update.
Video: 15:42

Since 1991 Dr. Prendergast has been using L-arginine therapy in the Endocrine Metabolic Medical Center with remarkable results.
This is seven years before the Nobel Prize was awarded to Louis Ignarro, Robert F. Furchgott and Ferid Murad for discovering that L-arginine produces the signalling molecule, Nitric Oxide. Dr. Prendergast brought his years of L-arginine research experience and clinical L-arginine therapy with thousands of patients in the Endocrine Metabolic Medical Center to the scientists at Natures Sunshine Products and together they formulated ProArgi-9 plus. Since that time Dr. Joe has used the Synergy Worldwide product ProArgi-9 plus in his practice with phenomenal results.

Dr. Prendergast has been an researcher and Endocrinologist for over 35 years.
He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine as well as Endocrinology and Metabolism and served his residency at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Prendergast is a member of over a dozen national medical associations and has published over 50 medical articles in well-known publications including JAMA "Journal of the American Medical Association", "The New England Journal of Medicine" and "Diabetes Care".

During that time, Dr. Joe has empowered countless patients in the art of self-care.

"L-arginine benefits the body in a myriad of ways. We have now learned more about how l-arginine uses the two natural pathways into the brain to promote anti-aging properties, sports performance, and boost the immune system. Because l-arginine promotes healthy blood flow, it can also benefit human sexuality."
Dr. Prendergast

Dr. Prendergast is a graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his residency at the University of California, San Francisco. In 1986, Dr. Prendergast formed a single specialty endocrinology practice, Endocrine Metabolic Medical Center and a non-profit research foundation, The Pacific Medical Research Foundation. In 1999, he founded DiabetesWell, an eClinic that managed patients with diabetes and helped them lead healthier, longer lives.

Dr. Joe's first book, The Uncommon Doctor: Dr. Joe’s Rx for Managing your Health, reveals the secrets of preventive medicine and helps readers design a strategic wellness program. Dr. Joe hosts his own live Internet health program each week.
