Celiac Disease,
Hippocrates Health Institute

Carol Williams went 55 years with
un-diagnosed Celiac Disease.

She finally got to the point where she was almost blind and could hardly move when a doctor suggested she get tested for Celiac Disease. Her quest for relief lead her to the Hippocrates Health Institute and ProArgi-9+.

Hippocrates Health Institute
Hippocrates is the "Gold Standard" of natural health care. Only products that are certified whole foods from non-GMO sources are allowed. No synthetics. Strictly Vegan. Hippocrates investigated ProArgi-9+ for a year, investigating sources and manufacturing methods before they began using it in their clinics.

Based in West Palm Beach, Florida, Hippocrates has been the preeminent leader in the field of complementary health care and education for over 60 years. Founded in Boston, Massachusetts by Ann Wigmore after healing herself of colon cancer using Wheatgrass therapies, Hippocrates has helped hundreds of thousands of guests realize that good health is every person’s birthright, and that a life free of disease and pain is our human legacy. Their philosophy is founded on the belief that a vegan, living, enzyme-rich diet – complemented by exercise, positive thinking and non-invasive therapies – is integral to optimum health. As stated by Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, nearly 2,500 years ago: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

Celiac disease
Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder in which people cannot eat gluten because it damages their small intestine. It is estimated to affect 1 in 100 people worldwide. When people with celiac disease eat gluten (a protein found in wheat, rye and barley), their body’s immune system responds by creating antibodies that attack the small intestine. These antibodies damage the villi, small fingerlike projections that line the small intestine, so that nutrients cannot be absorbed into the body.

Celiac disease is hereditary, meaning that it runs in families. 1 in 22 people with a first-degree relative with celiac disease (parent, child, sibling) have celiac disease. 1 in 39 people with a second-degree relative with celiac disease (aunt, uncle, cousin) have it too .

Long Term Health Effects

Celiac disease can develop at any age after people start eating foods or medicines that contain gluten. Left untreated, celiac disease can lead to additional serious health problems. These include the development of other autoimmune disorders like Type I diabetes and multiple sclerosis (MS), dermatitis herpetiformis (an itchy skin rash), anemia, osteoporosis, infertility and miscarriage, neurological conditions like epilepsy and migraines, short stature, and intestinal cancers.
